This is the last blogpost that is regarding the steps of happiness! Hopefully you guys have enjoyed all of these post! sorry for the long wait and hope you all can truly follow these steps and seek happiness! Cheers everybody!
Step.
Meditation has long been known to help improve your focus, clarity and concentration, it also helps to keep you calm and most importantly, it is the one that can improve your happiness :
In one study, a research team from Massachusetts General Hospital looked at the brain scans of 16 people before and after they participated in an eight-week course in mindfulness meditation. The study, published in the January issue of Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging, concluded that after completing the course, parts of the participants' brains associated with compassion and self-awareness grew, and parts associated with stress shrank.
Step.
Move Closer to Work: A Short Commute is Worth More Than a Big House:
This is one fact that surprised me as well because I myself was as shock as you. but however having a short commute time will allow you to be much happier when you travel to work. The fact that we tend to commute twice a day at least five days a week makes it unsurprising that the effect would build up over time and make us less and less happy.
Step.
Practice Gratitude: Increase Happiness and Satisfaction
This method is much simpler then it sounds it just involves us being grateful for what we have. It can be done in 2 ways, first by having a diary with 3 things that you are happy for today or just sharing it out with your friend will help a lot.
The gratitude-outlook groups exhibited heightened well-being across several, though not all, of the outcome measures across the three studies, relative to the comparison groups. The effect on positive affect appeared to be the most robust finding. Results suggest that a conscious focus on blessings may have emotional and interpersonal benefits.
